Moon Bowl as special edition for the WIRED Store

Friday, November 28th, 2008

The famous WIRED Christmas Store opened its virtual and real doors (in New York) a few days ago. As a special edition of our popular Earth Bowl we designed the Moon Bowl. It marks the the exact site of Apollo 11′s landing in 1969 and the surrounding surface of the moon.

The Moon bowl represents the section of the moon marked in the image on the right.

This area has a real size of about 731 x 731 miles or 1180 x 1180 kilometers. The dot indicates the exact landing point, also marked on MOON bowl.
